Laligurans Youth Club from Bhujung secured a spot in the quarterfinals of the 31st Triveni Cup by defeating two-time champions Samana Youth Club Tanahun with a convincing 2-0 victory.
Niraj Chaudhary and Djiajde were the heroes for Bhujung, each contributing a goal. The upcoming challenge for Laligurans Youth Club is a quarterfinal clash against Tribhuwan Army FC.
In another exciting match, Lagdidevi FC Nalma emerged victorious over Thadarai Adhikari Samaj, Dihithok, with a narrow 1-0 win. Anzal Maharjan scored a direct goal from a corner just two minutes into the game, securing their place in the quarterfinals. Their next test will be against Nepal Police Club in the quarterfinals.
The third match witnessed LG Association Pokhara pulling off a stunning upset by defeating the defending champions Rampur Rods Chitwan 2-1. Bikkey Chamling Rai gave Rods a 1-0 lead with a goal in the 5th minute of the first half. However, Lg Association made a comeback in the second half, with Saroj Titung converting a penalty after a handball by Ram Shahi resulted in a red card. The superb substitute Manoj Gurung sealed the victory for LG with a goal in the 40+ minutes.
Looking ahead to the quarterfinals, Sundar Bazar FC Lamjung is set to face Avishek Church Rajhar in the second quarterfinal match, while Nepal Police Club will go up against Lagdidevi Y.C. Nalma.
