The 26th edition of the Father Moran Memorial Cup U-12 inter-school football tournament, which is organized annually with the aim of promoting grassroots football, has started.

Four games were completed on the first day of the tournament. In the first match, host St. Xavier's School, Godavari (Blue) beat Bhaktapur Nest by 4 goals against zero. Brice Sunuwar, Sameer Dangol, Swapnil Singh Bista scored for St. Xavier's.

Another goal was scored by Bhaktapur as an own goal. Sushant Pandey of St. Xavier's was declared the player of the match.

Similarly, in the second match, Crescent Academy defeated Dolphin English Secondary School by 1-0. Anim Tamang scored for Crescent. Crescent Academy's Urgen Tamang was declared the man of the match.

In the third game, Little Angels School shocked the former champion Maya Universe Academy with a wide margin of 5-0. Arnab Rai scored a hat trick for Little Angels. Suman Bam and Younik Magar scored one more goal each. Arnab Rai of Little Angels was elected Man of the Match in the match.

In the fourth match, Nepal Don Bosco School defeated Godavari Residential School by a huge margin of 10-0. Vishansu Hang Rai alone scored 7 goals for Don Bosco. Awash Gurung, Avinit Dhital and Pranish Bhujel scored one more goal each. In the match, Don Bosco's Vishansu Hang Rai was elected man of the match.

A total of 20 teams participated in the inaugural competition organized by St. Veziers School, Godavari, Lalitpur. The final match will be held on the 10th of Paush.
