
Mahadev Youth Club has entered the semi-finals of the ongoing 6th Naikap Gold Cup Open Knockout Football Tournament.
Towards the quarter-final clash, Mahadev secured a place in the last four by defeating Goldstar Youth Club, which is considered a contender, in a tiebreaker.
Before that, both teams played a 1-1 draw in the regular time match at Naikap Stadium. Towards the scheduled time, Bishal Ghale scored for Mahadev and Mission Lama scored for Goldstar.
In the tiebreaker, Mahadev managed to beat Goldstar 4-3. Mahadev's goalkeeper Luz Maharjan, who saved Goldstar's two penalty kicks in the game, was declared the man of the match. Mahadev will now face Blue Bell FC on the 22nd of Kartik for the semi-finals.
The winner of the competition organized by Chandragiri Sports Academy, Chandragiri-14, Naya Naikap, Kathmandu will receive 500,000 in cash along with the title, while the runner-up will receive 250,000. The final match will be held on the 25th of Kartik.
