News Jhapa: Hosts Ekta Sporting Club Secures SFs Spot in 2nd Expert Ekta Sporting Gold Cup

Ekta Sporting Club, the tournament host, advanced to the semifinals of the 2nd Expert Ekta Sporting Gold Cup football competition, with a stellar performance led by Ashish Chapagai, who netted a remarkable three goals.

In the quarter-final clash held at Bir Amarsingh Secondary School in Birtamod 2, Beldangi, Ekta Sporting Club triumphed over Chandragarh's Brothers United Club, securing their place in the prestigious last four. The match was a captivating spectacle characterized by both teams displaying exceptional skills, featuring excellent finishing, and showcasing their young talents in fine form.

Ekta Sporting Club emerged victorious with a 4-2 scoreline. Sushil Rai of Ekta Sporting Club initiated the scoring, finding the net in the seventh minute to give his team the early advantage. Ashish Chapagai stole the spotlight with a brilliant performance, securing goals in the 17th, 38th, and 52nd minutes, ultimately completing an impressive hat-trick. In response, Bhaichung Rai scored for Brothers United Club in the 20th minute, while Karan Limbu added another goal in the 28th minute.

The match witnessed a brief pause as the players from the Brothers' side contested a decision made by referee Yuvraj Bajgai. Ashish Chapagain, the standout performer of the day, was named the "Player of the Match," receiving a cash prize of NPR 3,000, generously awarded by Khem Sangraula, Managing Director of Expert Education and Visa Services, the main sponsor of the tournament.

This highly competitive tournament has drawn participation from eight clubs in Jhapa, including Jhapa 11 FC, Bahundangi FC, Buttabari United, Jhapa FC Rajgarh, Sainik FC, Nav Pratibha Yuva Club, Brothers United, and the organizing host, Ekta Sporting Club, as confirmed by President Kiran Paudel. The grand finale of the competition is slated for November 3rd. The Secretariat member, Govind Giri, announced that the victors will be awarded a substantial prize of NPR 111,111, while the runners-up will receive NPR 55,555, in addition to prestigious trophies, medals, and certificates.

Moreover, the "Player of the Match" will be presented with a cash prize of NPR 3,000 in each match, and standout performers in various categories such as the best goalkeeper, defender, midfielder, forward, coach, top scorer, and the overall best player will each receive NPR 3,000, as shared by Technical Committee Coordinator Madhav Kharel. Ekta Sporting Club, established in the year 2074, has been actively nurturing young football talents. They provide football training to over 100 children under the age of 16, with dedicated coaches at the Bir Amarsingh Secondary School grounds.

Their mission is to elevate these budding talents to contribute to the nation's development, both in terms of quality and quantity, as they represent the future of the country's youth. The club is committed to fostering U-12 football, producing skilled players, and inspiring youth to embrace the sport.
