
KBA Global Bharatpur FC have made a winning start in the 24th Madi Gold Cup National Knockout Football Tournament organized by Basantapur United Club, Chitwan.
In the opening match at Basantpur Bazar in Madi-3, Chitwan, Bharatpur started victoriously by defeating Birgunj Youth Academy 4-3 in the tiebreaker.
Before that, both the teams played a competitive match with 1-1 goals. Ajit Lama scored for Bharatpur and Sujal Dangol scored for Birgunj.
In the tiebreaker, Bharatpur came out victorious. Bharatpur goalkeeper Manoj Gurung was declared man of the match. He received 5.000 cash and a trophy as an award.
With this victory, Bharatpur has also entered the semi-finals of the competition. The organizers informed that the second quarter-final match on Sunday, Magh 8, will be held between the home team Madi-11 and Country Side Academy, Bhaktapur.
Madi Municipality, Chitwan is the promoter of the competition. The winner will get three lakhs in cash along with the title, while the runners-up will get 150,000. The final match of the tournament, in which a total of eight teams are participating, will be held on the 14th of Magh.
