Kathmandu (GoalNepal) - Argentina are leading 2-0 against France in the ongoing FIFA World Cup final in Qatar. Argentina are leading thanks to goals from Lionel Messi and Angel Di Maria at the Lusail International Stadium.

Argentina were awarded a penalty in the 23rd minute of the match after Angel Di Maria was fouled inside the box by Ousmane Dembele. Lionel Messi stepped up to take the penalty and calmly converted it to give his nation the lead and take his tournament tally to six goals.

It was a swift counter attack from Argentina that Di Maria finished to double their lead in the 36th minute. Alexic Mac Allister was free on the right hand side who was alert to cross the ball to Di Maria who finished past Hugo Lloris with ease.

France have already made two changes after conceding two goals to shake things up but Argentina had the upperhand throughout the match.

Both teams are fighting for their third World Cup title each. France are the defending champions while Argentina are looking for their first title since 1986.
