News USA Hold England To A Goalless Draw
GoalNepal

Kathmandu (GoalNepal) - England and USA have played the fifth goalless draw of the tournament in their second respective matches in group B. A spirited American side fought hard to get away with a point from the English.

The Americans could have come away with all three points as England were nowhere near the gameplay they showed against Iran. The USA came very close to scoring in the 32nd minute of the match when skipper Christian Pullisic hit the crossbar. Weston McKennie escaped the attention of Decland Rice and passed inside to Musah. He moves the ball onto the Chelsea winger, whose strike ricocheted against the woodwork.

Truth be told, neither team deserved to win. The English were alarmed by the Americans for the opening hour before Southgate's men were able to calm things down. However, they were unable to overwhelm their skilled adversaries, and the game quickly lost steam.

At the end of the second matchday in group B, England are at the top with four points. Iran are second with three, followed by the USA with two points and Wales with zero. England will face fellow Britishers Wales in the final matchday while the USA will pit against Iran.
