
The Jhapa-based Satakshidham Sporting Club has advanced to the semifinals of the second Triveni Invitational Gold Cup, which is currently taking place in Fuyetappa, Fakphokthum-4, Ilam.
Jhapa qualified for the semifinals by defeating Ilam's Oasis FC 3-0 in the second quarterfinal at Bishnu Ma.Vi.
Jhapa's Prashant Rai scored two goals, while Dev Malik scored one. Malik scored through a penalty. Prashant, who led Jhapa with two goals, was named Man of the Match and received Rs 2,000 in cash.
Ilam's Janak Mainali received a red card near the end of the game. Ilam GK Pravesh Shrestha had already been beaten, and Janak was sent off for preventing the ball from entering the goal with his hand.
The winner of the Gold Cup organized by Triveni Youth Development Organization, Fuyetappa will get Rs. 2,00,000 and the runners-up will get Rs 1,00,000 in cash.
Letang FC, Morang and organizers Ilam will face each other on Saturday.
