News Kaski: Nine Matches Played Today In The 15th BT Cup

Nine games have been played today (Saturday) in the 15th edition of BT Cup 5th Biren Memorial seven-a-side football tournament at Purano Tundikhel in Pokhara-1. In the first match of the ongoing competition organized by Buddhatol Youth Club, Hemja United defeated Hemja Youth Club 4-1.

Manish Thapa scored the first hat trick of the tournament while Suman Sunar contributed one goal in the victory of United. According to BT Club President Bijaya Gurung, the second match between hosts(white) and Himalayan Melbourne ended in a 1-1 draw in regulation time and the hosts were victorious 2-1 in the shootout.

Similarly, Patan FC defeated Tangbe FC 2-1 in the third match. Dipu Gurung and Safal Acharya contributed one goal each for Patan while Durga Thapa scored a consolation goal for Tangbe FC.

In the fourth match, Simpani FC easily defeated Sarankot Sewa Samiti 4-0. Sagun Sharma scored 4 goals in Simpani's victory. In the fifth match, Masina FC defeated Kamal Pokhari FC 3-0. Dipesh Shrestha, Siddhant Gurung and Pratap Gurung scored a goal each in Masina's victory.

In the sixth game, in the absence of Ram FC, Tara FC emerged victorious through a walkover. In the seventh match, Laligurans Club, Dhampus defeated Sardikhola FC 2-1. Nitas Gurung and Dipesh Chhetri scored equal goals in the victory of Dhampus while Birendra Bhujel scored a consolation goal for Sardikhola.

In the eighth match, Hamro FC easily defeated Yamdi FC 4-1. In Hamro FC's victory, Tuntun Gurung scored the third hat-trick of the tournament while Sahil Gurung contributed one goal. Shiva Pun scored a consolation goal for Yamdi.

In the final match played on Saturday, Rough Guys defeated hosts (green) 1-0. Prison Gurung scored the decisive goal in the victory of Rough Guys. On Sunday, 9 games of the first phase will be played.

A total of 62 teams are participating in the competition, said Chairperson Gurung. According to Gurung, the winner of the competition will get Rs. 1,51,151 including a shield, medals and certificates.

According to him, the runner-up will receive Rs 91,111. He informed that the best player from the competition will be rewarded with Rs 7,000 including a trophy.
