News Terhathum: Khamlalung, Jhapa and Hwaku Victorious In The Madan Memorial Tournament

Khamlalung, Jhapa and Hwaku emerged victorious in the men's side of the Madan Memorial Football Tournament held at the historic Atharai Madan Mela on Saturday.

Giri Samaj, Khamlalung defeated Navadeep Youth Club Chuhandanda 5-1 in the first match played at the Tri-Mohan Ma.Vi. ground. Captain Santosh Limbu completed a hat trick for Khamlalung while Kiran Nepali scored two more goals. Similarly, only Abhishek Limbu from Hwaku managed to score a goal.

In the second match, Jamunkhadi Sporting Club of Jhapa beat Khelkud Bikas Samiti, Chhatedhunga 2-0. Roshan Bardewa and Dipen Bhujel scored for Jamunkhadi.

In the third game, Hwaku's Progressive Tamu Youth Group won. He defeated Namjang Thoklung 3-0. Captain Tangsang Ingnam scored two goals and Ghanindra Tamang scored one goal for Hwaku. Similarly, after the absence of one team, Jiri's team got a straight walkover and entered the second round.

In the third game, Hwaku's Pragatishil Tamu Yuwa Samuha emerged victorious. They defeated Namjang Thoklung 3-0. The winner of the 18-team men's event will receive Rs 1,35,000 in cash, while the runner-up team will have to settle for Rs 75,000. The historic Madan Mela has been going on since 2015 BS.

Faktep, Panchthar Victorious In The Women's Tournament

PYC Faktep of Panchthar emerged victorious in the women's side of the Madan Memorial Football Tournament held at the historic Atharai Madan Mela on Saturday.

Faktep has entered the semifinals by defeating rival Spardhi FC, Samdu, Phedap 2-1.

Captain Manita Tumrok scored two goals for Faktep while Samdu's Arati Limbu scored one goal.

The winning team on the women's side will get Rs 65,000 in cash and the runner-up will have to settle for Rs 40,000.
