News A Division League: Friends' Woes Continue As APF Register Their First Win

APF Football Club have registered their first win of the league campaign in the ongoing Martyr's Memorial A Division League with a 3-1 victory over Friends Club.

On Monday afternoon, APF defeated Friends Club with a brace from Aashish Lama and a goal from Bikki Tamang. Prezen Tamang pulled one back for Friends Club. 

In the battle between two sides in the relegation zone, APF took the lead in the 32nd minute of the match through Bikky Tamang. Tamang hit a ferocious shot from outside the box that the Friends keeper had no answer for.

APF added another just two minutes later through Aashish Lama. A run down the left-hand side of the six-yard box was finished on the far side of the post by Lama. The keeper didn't even choose to go down to make an attempt.

Aashish added another goal in the 56th minute of the match with his second scalp to take the scoreline to 3-0. A ball in to open the defense up was received by Aashish Lama on the edge of the box down the right. He finished well to roll the ball into the back of the net.

Friends pulled one goal back in the 68th minute through a penalty slotted home by Prezen Tamang.

With this win, APF have moved out of the drop zone with four points from five league matches while Friends club stay plumb last with no victories yet and just two points in their bag.

APF are scheduled to face New Road Team in the opening fixture of the sixth round of matches while Friends Club will face Nepal Police Club on the same day. Both matches will be played at the Dasharath Stadium.
