Tamu Lhosar Gold Cup Women's Football Tournament will be held in Birtamod, Jhapa. The tournament will be organized by Birtamod Football Club.

The competition will be held at Domalal Rajbanshi Stadium from December 23 to 30, according to Birtamod Football Club Chairman DK Gurung. Today, the club held a press conference in Birtamod to tell the public about the competition.

Five teams from the Province. no. 1 and three teams from India will compete in the second edition of the competition. Teams from Nepal's Jhapa, Ilam, Morang, Sunsari, Taplejung, and Udaypur, as well as India's Sikkim, Darjeeling, and Siliguri, will compete, according to Gurung. The competition winner will receive Rs. 111,111 in addition to a trophy, medals and certificates while the runner-up will receive Rs. 51,111 in addition to a trophy, medals, and certificates.

The competition has been held on the occasion of the Gurung community's biggest celebration, Tamu Lhosar, since 2076 BS. Last year, the game was hampered by a Covid-induced lockdown. The press conference was attended by Club Vice President Raju Gurung, Secretary Kumar Gurung, Coach Dipan Limbu, Team Manager Shiva Limbu, Kiran Limbu, Chandra Timsina, and Muna Bista.

Meanwhile, starting December 9, Birtamod Football Club will provide free training to young players. Chairman Gurung announced that training is for the growth of women's football.
