Nepal PM KP Sharma Oli has given his full confidence to ANFA to host prestigious SAFF Championship 2021 if Bangladesh fails to host the event in September.
Meeting with ANFA officials in his residence on Sunday, PM Oli said his government would give "everything" to host the event in Nepal.
Bangladesh is supposed to host the event but SAFF body is struggling to host the event in Bangladesh due to rising COVID cases, lack of sponsors and the venues.
ANFA exco member Rupesh Adhikari told GoalNepal that PM was excited to hear the proposal from ANFA and asked ANFA to prepare everything for the event.
SAFF body hasn't said anything about the venue change.
Only five teams will play in the event if the tournament goes on. Pakistan is banned by FIFA while Bhutan is reluctant to send thier teams abroad in COVID pandemic.
