2nd Devdaha cup knockout football championship got underway at Devdaha, Rupandehi on Monday.

Hosts D Unity Blue defeated Buddha Bhumi academy 1-0 in the opening match. Keshab Kumal scored the match winning goal and became the player of the match. He received NRs 2500 cash.

Sitalapur Youth club is playing against Pharsatikar yuwa club in today's match, tournament coordinator Santosh Ghale told GoalNepal.com

Earlier, Devdaha mayor Hira Bahadur Khatri inaugurated the championship, which has a winning purse of Nrs 1,50,000 and runners up team will get NRs 75,000.

12 teams are taking part in the event.
