ANFA Province 1 has demanded resignation from Janata Samajbadi MP Pradip Yadav for his remarks at assembly.
MP Yadav accused ANFA of giving Nrs 17 crore to sports minister to construct football technical centre in Kaski district. The statement contradicts as ANFA hasn't given or release any amount for the project yet. FIFA will release the budget for the construction after assessing the proposal from ANFA later.
ANFA exco has recently confirmed to construct the technical centre at Machhapuchre rural municipality. There is no ANFA football academy in Gandaki province.
ANFA Province 1 chief Kishor Jhapali demanded resignation from MP Yadav on Sunday.
"MP Yadav should resign from the post for his baseless remarks. MP is a respectable position. He should speak with proof (if any)", said Rai.
"ANFA was made directionless by previous leaderships. We have outplaced them (by football lovers like us). They shouldn't think that they can create havoc in Nepalese football again when we are facing difficulties (virus and lockdown). If there are any differences within ANFA, the officials should sort out by their own", added Rai.
ANFA's deputy general secretary Basanta Aryal added that some officials were trying to escalate the issue despite knowing the fact that Sherpa didn't want to hurt the sentiment of people from Terai intentionally.
