News USA: Boston Nepalese FC Wins The Title Of Dashain Tihar Cup 2019

Boston based Nepalese Youth’s Soccer Club “FC Boston United” has successfully organised the very first edition of “Dashain Tihar Cup 2019” Seven a side soccer tournament on the auspicious occasion of Nepalese greatest festivals Dashain and Tihar. The tournament was held at Highland Park, Chelsea on Sunday October 20th.

According to Prashant Lama, the President of FC Boston United, 16 teams from Massachusetts and its neighbouring states participated in this tournament. Tournament was conducted in group-round-robin cum knockout format. 

This tournament was sponsored by Jay’s MoMo and co-sponsored by Boston Threading, New England Eyebrows Threading, New York Life Insurance (Krishna Prasad Lohani), Himalayan Bistro, House of Tandoor and P Neupane CPA and was supported by Jatra Nepal and Koseli Events USA. The media partners of this tournament were GoalNepal.com and Nepaliwebsite.com. 

Boston Nepalese Football Club (BNFC) lifted the trophy beating Red Lobster FC by 1-0 in the Final. The winner team BNFC was awarded with a Trophy, Medals, certificate and $1200 cash prizes. Similarly the Runners up team Lobster FC was awarded with a trophy, medals, certificate and $500 cash prizes. Lin Nguyen from Red Lobster was awarded with the best goalkeeper award. Binamra Khadka from BNFC was awarded with the Highest Scorer award. Tenzjng Chhupac from BNFC was awarded with the Best Player Award. Red Lobster FC was also awarded with the Fair Play Award. Chief Guest Arzun Jung Kunwar, the president of Greater Boston Nepalese Community (GBNC) and Special Guest Suresh Wagle, the president of Himalayan Cultural Academy presented the awards to all the winner teams and players. 

The chairman of the event, Prashant Lama in his Thank you speech at closing ceremony, expressed his heartfelt gratitude to all the sponsors, supporters, media partners, participating teams, players and spectators for their generous support and participation to make this event grand successful. He also congratulated the Winners and Runners Up teams and their players.
