Oman National U-23 Team coach Hamad Al-Azani is in no mood to take Nepal lightly.

"We had a short preparation for the qualifiers. Our senior team defeated Afghanistan 5-0 yesterday. Our players are full of enthusiasm though there are new faces in the team."

"Nepal is not a weak team. We had watched their game in Asian Games held in Jakarta."

Nepal lies at 161st position of FIFA world ranking while Oman are in 90th position.

Oman will face Nepal in its opening match of  AFC U23 Championship Thailand 2020 Qualifiers tomorrow at Aspire 4, Doha Sports City at 5 PM local time.

The 11 group winners and four best second-placed teams along with host Thailand will qualify for the finals to be held January 2020 out of 43 teams taking part in the qualifiers. It will also serve as the qualifying round for the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games.

The teams were divided into two zones of WEST (West + South + Central) with 23 sides, and EAST (East + ASEAN) with 20 teams.
