Birtamod United, Jhapa with a great win has entered the finals of the ongoing 16th Shahid Bhimnarayan Gold Cup Open Knockout Football Tournament here in Dhankuta.

In the second semi-final held on Friday, Birtamod came close to winning the title by defeating the host Bhimnarayan Memorial Institute, Dhankuta by 3 goals against zero.

Anish Limbu and Abhishek Gurung scored one goal each for Birtamod in the match at Tundikhel ground. One more goal was scored by Padam Bhattarai of the host team as a suicide goal.

In the match, Mausam Limbu of Birtamod was declared Man of the Match. Birtamod will now compete for the title against APF Football Club, Kathmandu in the final on Saturday 29th Baisakh.

The winner of the competition organized by Shahid Bhimnarayan Memorial Foundation, Dhankuta will receive a cash prize of Rs 500,000 and the runner-up will receive Rs 250,000.
