
Bagmati Sports Development Committee, Makwanpur has entered the quarter finals of the ongoing 6th Bagmati Gold Cup National Knockout Football Tournament in Phaparbari.
In the pre-quarter finals held on Wednesday, Bagmati defeated Himalayan Sherpa Club, Kathmandu 5-4 in a tie breaker and entered the quarter finals.
Before that, both the teams played a thrilling 1-1 draw in the regular time match at Janata Mavi's playground. Lalit Chaulagai scored for Bagmati at the scheduled time, while Sudip Shrestha scored a penalty for Sherpa.
Bagmati's Lalit Chaulagai was declared Man of the Match.
Under the competition, the first quarter final match on Thursday will be between Nawa Jan Jagriti Club, Simara and New Team (NRT), the organizers informed.
The winner of the competition organized by the Bagmati Rural Municipality Sports Development Committee, Makwanpur will receive 10 lakhs in cash along with the title, while the runner-up will receive 5 lakhs.
The final match will be held on the 10th of Falgun.
