Birgunj United, playing with a set of Bagmati club, have entered the finals of the second Lahan Mayor Gold Cup held here.
Birganj entered the finals for the second time after defeating the host Him Kasturi Youth Club Lahan by 3-1 in the first semi-final match at Pashupati Adarsh Ma vi ground.
Birganj overturned the 1-0 goal and claimed the title. Srijan Gautam of Birgunj scored 2 goals and Anil Rana Magar scored one goal to shock the host at home.
Shishir Lekhi scored the lone goal for the hosts.
Srijan Gautam scored memorable goals in the 72nd and 89th minutes to make a great comeback. Meanwhile, Anil Ranamar scored a goal in the 80th minute of the game.
The man of the match was Srijan Gautam who scored two goals for Birganj. He got 3 thousand in cash and a trophy. Tomorrow (Sunday) Dhankuta Football Club will play the final semi-final match against Salhesh Yuva Club of Siraha.
Organized by Him Kastari Yuva Club and sponsored by Lahan Municipality, the winner of the Gold Cup will get 3 lakhs in cash and the runner-up will get 150,000.
