Three matches of the league stage were completed on Saturday under the first inter-school Inspector General of Armed Police Running Trophy football competition held at Nepal APF School.
In the first match of the sixth day of the competition, Nepali English Public School scored 10 goals against Rai School Naxal.
Shawan Shrestha alone scored 4 goals for Nepali while Kishore Dong and Sandesh Gadel scored 2-2 each while Buddha Khaling Rai and Ranveer Tamang scored 1-1 each. Saravan Shrestha, who scored 4 goals in the match, was elected man of the match.
In the second match of the day, the local Laboratory Secondary School, Kirtipur won by 4-1 against Pushpasadan School, Kirtipur. Hrithik Phadera scored a hat-trick while Bishnu Chand's scored another. Hrithik was chosen as the best player of the match.
In the last match of the league stage, Sainik Residential Secondary School Sallaghari defeated Green Village Secondary School Kirtipur with an easy result of 7-0. Musam Rokaya scored 2 goals for Sainik Residential, while Bhuvan Kami, Rohit Shrestha, Deepak VK, Dipesh Dumjan and Anubhav Puri scored 1 each.
It is said that the pre-quarterfinal stage of the tournament is scheduled to be held from Sunday. There will be 4 matches on Sunday. Where Nepal APF School Kirtipur (A) v. D.A.V. School, Jawalakhel, Lalitpur, Manakamana Secondary School Jorpati vs. Modern Indian School, Chobhar, Nepali English Public School, Jorpati vs. Green Village Education Foundation Kirtipur and Gems School, Dhapakhel vs. Rai School, Naxal.
The competition, which has a prize of 50,000, will continue until Falgun 8.
