News Makwanpur: Sudarshan Ghimire Memorial Hetauda U21 Challenge Cup Kicks Off

With the slogan of becoming a national player, focus on production, started from Tuesday in Hetauda.

Nawa Janajagriti Yuva Club, Simara has made a winning start in the Sudarshan Ghimire Memorial U-21 Hetauda Challenge Cup Knockout Football Tournament.

In the opening match at Piple Campa Stadium, Nawa Janajagriti started with a win by defeating Nagaswati Youth Club 5-4 in a tiebreaker. Before that, both the teams played a competitive match with 2-2 goals.

Towards the scheduled time, Rakesh Bhandari and Serab Lo Tamang scored for Nav Janjagriti, while Kushal Adhikari scored both goals for Nagaswati. Nagaswati Adhikari was declared the player of the match.

With this win, Nava Janjagriti has entered the quarterfinals. Before that, the competition was inaugurated by Rajesh Baniyan, Deputy Mayor of Hetouda Sub-Metropolitan City, who was the chief guest.

The winner of the inaugural tournament organized by FC Mundial, Hetouda will receive a title and a cash prize of Rs 1,11,111, while the runner-up will receive a trophy, medal and certificate along with Rs 55,555.

The final match of the tournament in which a total of 14 teams are participating will be held on the 13th of November.
