
Barahkshetra-11 eased their way into the championship round of the 3rd Barahkshetra Gold Cup International Invitational Open Knockout Football Tournament, held at Chakraghatti, Sunsari.
In an electrifying first semi-final clash on Friday, Barah Kshetra outclassed Chitlang Football Club from Kathmandu, prevailing with a 3-1 victory to secure their coveted spot in the final. Akash Rai exhibited remarkable skill by netting two goals for Barah Kshetra, with Sajan Rai adding another to the tally. The lone scorer for Chitlang was Rajiv Lopchan.
Akash Rai's standout performance earned him the Man of the Match title, along with a cash prize of 3,000 and a well-deserved trophy. Tournament organizers have confirmed that the second semi-final match will feature Shantinagar Football Club of Sunsari facing off against Fusion Football Club of Udayapur, scheduled for Saturday, the 4th of Kartik.
The ultimate victor in this competition, hosted by Chakraghatti Football Club in Barah Kshetra, Sunsari, will be awarded a substantial cash prize of Rs 2 lakh in addition to the prestigious title. Meanwhile, the runner-up will receive Rs 1 lakh. The eagerly anticipated final showdown is slated to take place on the 6th of Kartik.
