
Betana United has entered the semi-finals of the second Altitude Running Cup being held at Ramdhuni Municipality-7 Panchayan, Sunsari.
Betna United has secured its place in the semi-finals of the competition by defeating defending champion APF Pakali 4-2 in a penalty shootout in the second quarter-final match held at the Panchayan Sports Ground on Saturday.
In a highly competitive match, the result was decided through a penalty shootout after neither team could score a goal in the stipulated time. Ashish Lawati of Betna United Club was declared the Man of the Match and received a trophy along with Rs 2,500.
The competition, which started on Falgun 9, will end on Falgun 17. The winner of the competition, in which ten teams participated, will receive a running trophy worth Rs 222,222 along with a silver-plated fifteen tola trophy, and the runner-up will receive a trophy worth Rs 111,111.
Club President Pitambar Timsina said that the tournament will be organized at different locations every year with the main slogan of 'Elevation of Society, Responsible Youth' with the aim of developing Nepali football and inspiring the youth towards the sport.
