In a surprising turn of events at the ongoing 6th Naikap Gold Cup Open Knockout Football Tournament, Tribhuvan Army Football Club, often regarded as a strong contender, faced an unexpected defeat.

Under the leadership of Bharat Khawas, the Army fielded a team largely composed of secondary choice players and suffered a 1-0 loss to Madhyapur Jagaruk Yuva Club.

The decisive goal was netted by Suman Dangol in a closely contested match at the Naikap Stadium.

Madhyapur Jagaruk's Sonit Dahal was recognized as the Man of the Match for his standout performance.

In another fixture, Vimsen Youth Club secured a convincing 3-0 victory over Kitini Bhanjyang Youth Club. Anil Balami, Ashish Subba, and Amar Lama were the goal-scorers for Vimsen's triumphant performance.

Kapil Sapkota of Vimsen Youth was named the Man of the Match for his notable contributions. The competition, organized by Chandragiri Sports Academy located in Chandragiri-14, Naya Naikap, Kathmandu, promises substantial rewards for the victors. The champion will be awarded a cash prize of NPR 500,000 along with the prestigious title, while the runner-up will receive a cash prize of NPR 250,000. The final showdown is scheduled to take place on the 25th of Kartik.
