Pokhara (GoalNepal) - Anjan Bista and Ananta Bista scored a goal each as Church Boys United have qualified for the quarterfinals of the 22nd Aaha! Rara Pokhara Gold Cup. Church Boys defeated Nepal Police Club 2-1 in the match played at the Pokhara Stadium on Friday.

It was Police who took the lead of the match but had to bow out as they couldn't hold on to it. Ravi Paswan gave them the lead of the match in the 24th minute of the match. 

Anjan Bista started his Church Boys United with his name on the scoresheet as he netted his first goal for the club on debut in the 77th minute and forced extra time. In the extra time, it was another debutant who ensured Church Boys' victory. Ananta Tamang put them in front in the ninth minute of extra time which proved to be enough for the B Division champions.

Church Boys had fielded Dinesh Rajbanshi, Tej Tamang, Arik Bista as well alongside the club stalwarts like Ashish Chapagain and Aashish Chaudhary.

Church Boys will face Machhindra FC in the quarterfinals on Sunday.

The winners of the tournament will receive 12 lakh rupees while the runners-up will receive six lakh rupees. Ten teams are participating in the tournament organized by the Sahara Club.
