
With a hard-fought victory, Pema Youth Club, Biratnagar have entered the 2nd Sukchar Challenge Cup Knockout Football Tournament semi-finals. In the first quarter-final, Pema defeated Panchayan FC, Ramdhuni 4-2 in a tie-breaker and confirmed their place in the semi-finals.
Both teams played a 1-1 draw in the scheduled match at Budhiganga ground in Sukachar. Komal Khawas scored for Pema in the 52nd minute and Tirtha Basnet equalized for Panchayan in the 66th minute.
Komal Khawas of Pema Youth Club was named the player in the match. He received a cash prize of Rs. 1,100 and a medal.
The second quarterfinal match on Tuesday will be played between Kusume Shining Club, Kerabari and Udaya Youth Club, Dharan.
The competition winner organized by Nawa Youth Club Sukachar-11, Budhiganga-6, Sukchar, Morang will receive Rs. 50,000 cash along with the title, while the runner-up will receive 30,000.
The final of the tournament, in which a total of 10 teams are participating, will be held on Ashoj 3rd.
