News Morang: Golbazar Lift The Title Of Mills Gold Cup

Golbazar Prativa Club have lifted the title of the second Mills Gold Cup. Golbazar defeated Saino Sports Club, Biratnagar 2-1 in the final held today at Jute Mill ground to lift the title. Golbazar received Rs. 2,01,000 along with the title.

Saino received Rs. 1,01,000. Golbazar took the lead through Ali in the eighth minute of the match. After the first goal, Saino's foreign player Fofana's shot in the 14th minute was saved by goalkeeper Nischal Shrestha. In the 35th minute of the match, goalkeeper Angel Shrestha saved a free kick by Kuldev Karki of Golbazar. Saino's Fofana equalized in the 39th minute with a 30-yard shot.

In the 47th minute, foreign player Yamu scored a cross pass from foreigner Binu Ali to secure the victory. In the 51st minute, Bhuwan Basnet's hard shot from inside the box was saved by goalkeeper Nischal Muktang.

The player of the match of the final game was Fofana the runners-up. Similarly, Kuldeep Karki of Golbazar was named the player of the tournament and Alman of Golbazar became the highest goalscorer. He scored three goals in the tournament.

Eight teams participated in the competition organized by Mills Gold Cup Football Trust. The prizes were distributed to the winners by the chief guest of the program, Biratnagar Metropolitan Chief Bhim Parajuli, Trust Chairman Kishor Shahi, Coordinator Kishor Subba and others.
