News Nepal Suffers Third Consecutive Defeat In SAFF U-18 Women's Championship

Nepal have lost their third match in a row at the ongoing SAFF U-18 Women's Championship going on in Jamshedpur, India.

Nepal lost 5-1 at the hands of India today. Just like the previous match earlier in the competition, it was India who put Nepal under pressure from early on.

Skipper Silky Devi gave India the lead in the 16th minute of the match. Lynda Serto added a further two goals in the 23rd and 38th minutes. Anita Kumari scored her first goal and the team's fourth in the 56th minute.

Lynda Serto completed her hat-trick in the 62nd minute. Nepal pulled one back in the 79th minute through Sandeepa Bholan.

With this defeat, Nepal remains last in the table with no points on board. India have nine points and Bangladesh have three.

Nepal will play their last match of the tournament on March 23 against Bangladesh.

The tournament is being played on a round-robin format and the team at the top of the table will be crowned champions.
