News Nepal Succumb To A Superior Indian Side In The SAFF U-18 Women's Championship Opener!

India thrash Nepal 7-0 in the inaugural match at the SAFF U-18 Women's Championship which started today in Jamshedpur, India. In what was a tough outing for the Nepali team, the team succumbed to a superior Indian side.

Priyanka Sujeesh gave India the lead in the 14th minute of the match and Lynda Serto doubled the lead just three minutes later. Lynda added another in the 37th minute for her brace. The first half ended 3-0.

Nepal then lost their way even more in the second half. Substitute Apurna put the hosts four ahead in the 74th minute. Purnima scored another in the 81st minute, Sunita Munda scored one in the 89th and Nitu Linda rounded off a convincing win for India with a goal in stoppage time.

Nepal will face Bangladesh on Thursday evening in their second match of the tournament. The round-robin tournament is being played between Nepal, India and Bangladesh and the team at the top of the table will be crowned champions.
