ANFA President's Cup Football Second Week of Magh, Winners To Get NRs 2.6M

The President's Cup Football Tournament is being organized by the Nepal Democratic Sports Association General Convention Steering Committee-2081 under the Nepali Congress from Magh 10.

The organizing committee coordinator Mahon Bahadur Basnet informed at a press conference organized at the central party office in Sanepa on Thursday that 10 men's teams, including 8 'A' division clubs and 2 invited foreign teams, will participate in the tournament.

The winner of the tournament, which will be held with the technical assistance of the All Nepal Football Association, will receive a cash prize of 2.6 million and the runner-up will receive 1.3 million. The tournament, which will last until Magh 17, will be played at the Dasharath Stadium in Tripureshwor.

On the same occasion, it was informed that the Durga Dutta Joshi Memorial National Taekwondo Tournament will be organized by the committee from Magh 18 in Dhangadhi, Kailali. In the three-day tournament, there will be 26 events, including 20 in Kyoragi and 6 in Poomsae, for the senior and junior sides.

The top three teams will receive cash prizes of Rs 100,000, Rs 50,000 and Rs 25,000 respectively, said committee secretary Purna Singh Bohara. The best male and female players and judges will be awarded Rs 15,000 each. Emerging players in the tournament, which will be held with the technical support of the Nepal Taekwondo Association, will receive a cash prize of Rs 5,000.
Coordinator Basnet said that various sports competitions will also be organized in honor of various late personalities who contributed to establishing democracy in Nepal. These competitions will be organized by the Nepal Democratic Sports Association.
