Nepal National women's team skipper Niru Thapa expressed her strong desire to lift the title of SAFF Women's Championship 2019.
"This is the final match. We have to win at any cost. We will work hard for it. We will definitely be champions tommorow if we will play according to coach's instructions." said the forward.
"We used to fear to play against India. But our coach motivated us. As a result, we drew against them in AFC Women's Olympic Qualifiers. We won against India in Hero women's cup with his encourgament. We then felt we can beat India. I am sure we will win tomorrow also if we play as a team.", Thapa shared her last two match experiences against India to media in the pre-match conference.
Nepal played 1-1 draw against India in 2020 AFC Women’s Olympic Qualifers on November 8, 2018 and they registered first ever win (2-1) over India in Hero Women's Gold Cup on February 11, 2019.
Nepal has never won the title despite reaching the finals in four occasions.
Nepal is playing against arch-rivals India in the final match tomorrow at Sahid Maidan, Biratnagar.
