Dhaka, July 13 – Nepal suffered a heartbreaking 3-2 defeat against hosts Bangladesh in a dramatic SAFF U20 Women's Championship encounter on Saturday, conceding the decisive goal deep into stoppage time at Bashundhara Arena, Dhaka.
In a game filled with intensity and emotion, Nepal fought back valiantly after trailing by two goals at halftime. Second-half strikes from Anisha Rai and Meena Deuba brought Nepal level, setting up what looked like a well-earned draw.
However, in the 90+11th minute, Bangladesh’s Trishna Rani capitalized on a lapse in Nepal’s defense to score a stunning late winner, leaving the Nepali side devastated.
