Sri Lanka has been granted the honor of hosting the highly anticipated 2025 South Asian Football Federation (SAFF) Championship, set to take place in June 2025.

This exciting announcement was confirmed by Football Federation of Sri Lanka (FFSL) President Jaswar Umar, who is currently in Kathmandu, Nepal, for official discussions with SAFF member countries.

This historic decision marks a significant moment for Sri Lankan football, as the country last hosted the prestigious tournament in 2008, when it co-hosted the event alongside the Maldives. After a gap of 17 years, Sri Lanka will once again showcase its footballing facilities and hospitality to the region's top teams in what is often referred to as the "World Cup of South Asia."
