Khumaltar Youth Club, Kathmandu have entered the semifinals of the sixth Nepal Ice Hemja Gold Cup International Invitational Football Tournament.
Khumaltar entered the last four by defeating Bagmati Youth Club, Sarlahi by 2-0 in the third quarterfinal held at Gaurishankar Stadium, Hemja, Pokhara on Monday.
Khumaltar's two goals in the first half helped the team reach the semifinals. Aashish Shrestha opened the scoring in the second minute of the first half. Similarly, Aashish Sonam scored the second goal in the 28th minute.
Aashish Sonam, who scored the second goal for the winning team Khumaltar, was also declared Man of the Match. He received 5,000 rupees in cash.
According to the organizers, the final quarterfinal of the tournament will be played between Avenir FC, Cameroon and Nepal APF Football Club, Kathmandu on Tuesday.
The winner of the tournament organized by Hemja United, Pokhara will get Rs. 6,00,000 including the title and the runners-up will get Rs. 3,00,000 rupees.
