Salhesh Youth Club has entered the semi-finals of the 2nd Lahan Mayor Gold Cup held here by being lucky in Sudden Death.
In the third quarter-final match held today at the Pashupati Adarsh Ma vi Stadium, Siraha beat Dharan's Mitra Milan Club by 8-7 in sudden death and made it to the last four.
Both teams played a 1-1 draw in the scheduled 90-minute match. Siraha took the lead in the competitive game. For him, Sunil Khadka scored a free kick in the 54th minute of the game. Trailing 1-0, Dharan had to wait for the 83rd minute to return to the game. In which Dorje Tamang managed to score. Dharan returned to the game but could not turn the result in his favor. Earlier in the first half, Dorje Tamang's shot failed to take the lead when it hit the goal post in the first half.
Both teams created scoring opportunities but were unable to score. After the match ended in a draw, the match was pushed to a tiebreaker. Even in the tiebreaker, after the same goal was tied 4-4, the game was decided by sudden death. Roman Limbu, Dorje Tamang, Vivek Rai, Vinod Rai, Rivas Maske, Sachin Shrestha and Anson Rai only scored goals for Dharan. Dharan's Bhuwan Basnet's shot was blocked by Siraha's goalkeeper Sagar Magar, and Tipson Rai's shot went out. For Siraha, Aman Lama, Sunil Khadka Abayomi, Asan Rai, Buddha Chemjong, Fofona, Pravesh Danuwar and Pepe's shots turned into goals, but Ashok Khawas' shot was wasted.
Siraha's goalkeeper Sagar Magar was the man of the match. He got 3 thousand in cash. Tomorrow (Friday) Real FC of Kathmandu will play the last quarter final against Dhankuta FC. Organized by Him Kasturi Youth Club and sponsored by Lahan Municipality, the winner of the final match to be held on Falgun 1st will get 3 lakh cash and the runner-up will get 1 lakh 50 thousand cash.
