News AFC Publishes New Code of Conduct

The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) has today published the new AFC Code of Conduct.

This 2020 Edition of the Code was approved by the AFC Executive Committee on November 25, 2020 and represents a significant upgrade and revision to the first edition, which was implemented in 2014.

All members of the AFC family are subject to the AFC Code of Conduct, including AFC employees, officials, volunteers, consultants, and sub-contractors.

Alongside the more standard key principles (including the obligation to act with integrity, the AFC's zero tolerance of discrimination, and the avoidance of bribery and corruption), the Code has also been updated to cover more contemporary topics, such as child safeguarding and environmental responsibility.

As the AFC President, Shaikh Salman bin Ebrahim Al Khalifa, explained: “This Code of Conduct is one of the ways in which we put into practice the key values that underpin the game of football on the pitch into our activities off the pitch. It aims to assist the AFC in reflecting such principles in the everyday work of the organisation.

“As the leaders of Asia’s football family, we must set the bar high.”

The Code is available in both English and Arabic via the following links:
