12th South Asian 7-A-Side football championship got underway in Pokhara on Saturday.

Nepal defeated Bhutan 4-0 in the opening match. Sunil BK and Sushil Lama scored brace each for Nepal.

In the second match, Bangladesh hammered Maldives 16-0.

Ashraful scored six goals alone while Ujjar scored five and Tuhin and Haque scored brace each. Mishu scored another for the winners.

Nepal, Maldives, Bangladesh, India, Pakistan and Bhutan are participating in the championship, which is oragnized by Nepal 7-A-Side Football Federation.

The champions has a winning purse of USD 2,000.
