News Controversy Mars Mahottari District Election; Nine District Clubs Not Informed About The Assembly

Huge controversy has marred Mahottari district election.

Surprisingly, the district FA didn't inform nine district league teams for the assembly. The assembly was held today in Jaleshwor in which ANFA coach Pramod Manandhar, who resigned from the post, was elected the president.

This is not the first case in the on-going district elections. Earlier, Palpa DFA had similar issues. President candidate Pranaya Bir Jung Rana had accused that district FA had sent name of fake clubs to central ANFA for assembly. He boycotted the election. ANFA election committee is investigating the issue.

Jay Lama, the president of Janasewa club in Mahottari district, told GoalNepal that he was shocked the way how district FA conducted the assembly.

"Nine district league teams were not invited for the assembly. They submitted fake clubs to central FA for the election. Can you believe it? This is a day-light robbery. We have already informed ANFA. We are ready to go to court demanding justice", said Lama.

Rautahat DFA president Nepal Karki was present in the assemly as a central representative.

When GoalNepal contacted Karki, he said, "There was some problems in the assembly. Some officials said they weren't informed. We are discussing about the issue tomorrow".

However, the new committee already signed the minute copies.

Lama said they were not ready to give up.

"We were not informed at all. District FA didn't send us any official letter for the assembly. We won't give up. We will fight for justice", added Lama.

Central representative Karki said that the district FA published an advertisement on local Newspaper. ANFA bylaws clarify that the DFA must sent written notice to the participating clubs for the election.

When contacted ANFA spokesperson Sanjeev Mishra, he said that the election was done as per records available at ANFA.

Jay Lama confirmed that Mahottari DFA sent the name of fake clubs.

"Central representative should have properly checked about the fake clubs", he said.

After seeing the same issue at Palpa and Rautahat elections, it is expected that similar problems can be seen in other district elections in coming days.
