Bagar Bhai Khalak 8-A Side Tournament, the one of the popular tournament of Pokhara, will be organized in the memory of late Ranjit Gurung.

According to Bagar Bhai Khalak Club President Dil Bahadur Gurung, the family of the late Gurung will sponsor the tournament for five years.

Gurung was awarded with Pokhara Ratna award this year for his contribution in the development of different sports in Pokhara during his long time service at Prithvi Narayan Campus. He had made worthy effort for the development of Hockey, Tennis, Basketball, Cricket, Football, Volleyball and others sports in Pokhara.

8th Late. Ranjit Gurung Memorial Bagar Bhai Khalak 8-A Side International Open Vetran Football Tournament is scheduled from Magh 2-6 at Old Tudikhel, Pokhara. One lakh rupees, the first cash prize, is sponsored by Mr. Indra Gurung in the memory of his late mother Shiba Kumari Gurung. Fifty thousnad rupees, the runner-up cash prize, is sponsored by Amit (john) Gurung.

United Veteran, Kolkata and Bagar Bhai Khalak, UK will compete in the event for the first time. According to organizers, teams from Kathmandu, Chitwan, Hetauda, Birgunj, Butwal and local teams from Pokhara will participate in the tournament.
