Nepal Army Club thrashed Church Boys United 5-0 in the opener of 3rd Man Mohan Duhabi Gold Cup at Duhabi stadium, Sunsari on Saturday.

Tek Bahadur Budhathoki opened the scoring for Nepal Army in 22nd minute. Santosh Tamang scored the second goal from direct free kick in the 30th minute to make the scoreline 2-0 up for Army till half time.

In the 52nd minute, Tek Bahadur Budhathoki contributed another goal for his team.

Tek Bahadur Budhathoki completed hat-trick as he scored his third goal and team's fourth goal in the 82nd minute.

Church Boys United tried their best in the wee hours but in vain as Nepal Army scored another goal through Bharat Khawas in the 86th minute.



Hat-trick hero Tek Bahadur Budathoki was awarded with the man of the match. He received Rs.10,000.

Nepal Police Club will face Mechi Netralaya Kakarvitta Football Training Centre in the second quarterfinal match tomorrow.

The winner of the tournament will be awarded Rs 6 lakh and the runners up will be awarded Rs 3 lakh.

The tournament is organized by Eleven Arrows Club, Duhabi.
