Nepal National women's team coach Hari Khadka believes that his girls can create history by lifting the title of SAFF Women's Championship 2019.

Nepal is playing against arch-rivals India in the final match tomorrow at Sahid Maidan, Biratnagar.

Nepal has never won the title despite reaching the finals in four occasions.

Speaking in the pre-match conference, coach Khadka said, "This is our home, this is our motherland. We are ready to break record. Girls have high confidence. We have recently played two matches against India. One we drew and we won another. Tomorrow is our day. We will definitely win the title."

Nepal played 1-1 draw against India in 2020 AFC Women’s Olympic Qualifers on November 8, 2018 and they registered first ever win over India in Hero Women's Gold Cup on February 11, 2019.

"Sri Lanka played defensive game. So, Sabitra couldn't tear their compact defense line. But India believes in total football. India's defense line would be hollow in comparison to the match against Sri Lanka. So, I think it would be easier for Sabitra tomorrow.", replied the coach.

"The roles and responsibilities of a player and a coach are different. A player has to focus on a particular position only. But it is a tough job as a coach since the areas of focus are many. There are more responsibilities and more pressure for a coach.", answered the former Nepal international when asked him about the level of pressure he had as a player and he has as a coach now.

"India is a bigger country and so is their investment. They are playing against different countries. There is a slight difference in players of these two teams. Our strength is fighting spirit. Technically, they are superior. But we are improving day by day. Good part is that now India is no longer a fearful side to our players.

This is the first time that the women's team has played in front of huge number of home supporters. Home support has boosted confidence of girls. They might come under pressure if the home fans make negative reactions on missed chances but I have already taught them how to release the pressure. We will play good football and win the title."

"Its obvious to feel some pressure in final match. But I have no pressure playing against India unlike playing against teams who play defensive football. India and we play total football. So, there is 50-50 chances. We just need to work harder on pitch."

The coach concluded by extending holi wishes.
