Mechinagar gold cup will be played from Chaitra 28, organizers Kakarvitta football training centre said on Thursday.

Mechinagar municipality will take patronage of the event.

Mechi Netralaya, an eye specialty centre, is the main sponsor of the event.

Hosts Kakarvitta football training centre and Mechi Netralaya signed in an MoU at Kakarvitta. The sponsor will provide Nrs 10 lakh to the organizers.

The organizers have renamed the event from Kakarvitta gold cup to Mechinagar gold cup.

Top teams from Nepal will take part in the event, which has a winning purse of Nrs 10 lakh.

Mechinagar mayor Bimal Acharya and Jhapa district sports development committee President Shankar Thapa said that they would provide every support to make the event successful.
