MMC defeated Rupandehi XI 4-1 on penalties to enter semifinals of 2nd Satashi Gold Cup football tournament at Jhiljile, Jhapa, on Sunday.

Rupandehi took a playful lead through Cedric Aba in 6th minute but Dona Thapa leveled the score in 49th minute.

Both teams tried their best to break the deadlock but the referee invited spot kick battle after regulation time to decide the match.

MMC:

Niraj Basnet, Rajin Dhimal (OUT), Bijaya Dhimal (Saved)

Dona Thapa became the man of the match and he received Rs 10,000 cash.

Satashidham sporting club is organizing the championship, which has a winning purse of Rs 5 lakhs.
