Kathmandu: Open Veterans Championship Kicks Off

Open veterans championship got underway at Chabahil ground on Monday.

Kalakar veterans defeated Sajan memorial 5-0 in the opening match.

Man of the match Marichman Shrestha and Hari Dangi scored brace each while Damber Nepali scored another goal.

In another match, Banepa defeated Tushal 4-1. Bikram Shrestha scored a brace while Pradio Dhagauda and Anish Shrestha scored apiece. Prajwol Gurung scored a consolation goal for Tushal.

Earlier, Nepali congress leader Gagan Kumar Thapa inaugurated the championship, which has a winning purse of Rs 1 lakh.
