The 4th Intra Cup 2024, held in Akron, USA, was a tremendous success, with Shangri-La Youth FC claiming the championship in the youth category.
They secured a narrow 1-0 victory over Pathari FC in the final, earning a $15,000 cash prize and a stunning 10 tola golden trophy. Pathari FC reached the final after a dramatic penalty shootout victory against Chukay FC in the semifinals, while Shangri-La easily advanced by defeating Timai Squad 5-1.
Organized by the Intra-National Welfare and Support Foundation of America in partnership with the Peace Zone Cup, the event featured four categories: Women’s Open, Men’s Open, Men’s 30+, and Veterans 40+. From August 30th to September 1st, thousands of attendees, including children, youth, and older adults, gathered at the Copley Soccer Complex to witness this major event.
On the second day, the organizers announced the return of their popular international reality shows, ‘Mero Voice Universe’ and ‘Mero Dance Universe,’ featuring numerous renowned international celebrities. Chairman Mr. Dilli Adhikari expressed gratitude to everyone for their support and enthusiasm for the event.
Shangri-La Youth FC showcased their talent, with players dominating the individual awards: Bikram Humagain was named Best Goalkeeper, Nirajan Chaudhary took home Best Defender, and Rojin Prajapati was awarded Best Midfielder. Manoj Chuwan was recognized as the Best Forward and top scorer in the final, while Samir Gurung was named MVP of the tournament. As always, the Best Coach award went to Kiran Thapa.
