News Atoot, Nepal Shines At Festival24 In France!

Atoot, Nepal has participated in Festival24, the premier International Solidarity Festival organized by Sport dans la ville.

This event unites 500 young people from around the globe to celebrate the values of the Olympics and the transformative power of sports.

Representing Atoot and Nepal, Programme Officers Monika Kumari and Alisha Shrestha have been making waves at this global sport-for-good festival, held in conjunction with the Paris Olympics 2024.

Sport for Good Forum
The day began with the Sport for Good Forum, hosted by Sport dans la ville and the Olympics. Monika took the stage to open the Forum with an inspiring speech about her remarkable journey with Sport for Development. Her impactful words resonated alongside distinguished figures including the Director of the Louis Vuitton Foundation, the Salt Lake City Olympic Committee (recently awarded the 2036 Winter Games), French Minister of Sport Amélie Oudéa-Castéra, and Olympians like Lindsey Vonn and Kaysha Love.

Sport for Sustainable Development (S4SD)
Summit Following the Forum, Monika, Alisha, and three other Festival24 Young Leaders attended the Sport for Sustainable Development (S4SD) Summit: "Faster, Higher, Stronger – Together For a Better Future," hosted by Agence Française de Développement (AFD), The Olympic Games, and the Government of France. This exclusive event, held on the eve of the Olympics Opening Ceremony, brought together over 500 influential figures, including heads of state, the President of France, the IOC President, Olympic Committee leaders, FIFA President, international organizations, athletes, civil society representatives, and development finance actors.

A Proud Representation of Asia and Nepal
At this monumental event, Alisha and Monika proudly represented Asia and Nepal, engaging with various initiatives focused on education, health, inclusion, financing, and sustainability in sports. Their participation not only highlighted the significant strides Atoot is making in rural Nepal but also showcased the impact of our work on a global stage.
