News Kaski: Hemja Veterans Cup Kicks Off

Inter ward level Hemja Veterans Cup 2081 has started on Saturday in Hemja of Pokhara.

Motilal Timsina, Chairman of Ward No. 25 Hemja and spokesperson of the city, inaugurated the competition organized by Hemja United and under the patronage of Pokhara metropolis.

In the opening match, Ward No. 1 Bagar started the victory by defeating host Ward No. 25 Hemja by 0-2 goals.

In the program, Sita Sapkota, a resident of Hemja Hanuman Chowk, Pokhara, donated 222,222 rupees for the football academy operated by Hemja United in memory of her son Rajan Sapkota and daughter-in-law Anisha Sapkota, who died in the Yeti Airlines plane crash.

Hemja United President Rajesh Tripathi welcomed the event, Vice President Uma Bhurtel Paudel, Managing Secretary Sunil Gaik. The first prize of Hemja Veterans Cup 2081, which will continue till June 7th, is Rs 1,11,111/- and the second prize is Rs 55,555/- along with a trophy, medal and certificate.

Also, the best player will receive a cash prize of Rs 5,000, and the highest scorer, goalkeeper, defender, midfield, forward will receive a trophy with cash of Rs 2,000 in each category. According to the organizer, the trophy will be awarded to the man of the match in the matches from the quarterfinals onwards.
