News Financial Support To Ganga, A Former Football Player Suffering From Cancer

On the initiative of Nepal Women's Football Association, former football player Ganga Gurung, who is suffering from cancer, has been given financial support for her medical treatment on Friday.

Bina Shrestha, General Secretary of the Women's Football Association, informed that 1 lakh 5 thousand rupees collected from officials of Women's Football Association, sports journalists, teachers and Nepalis abroad have been handed over to Jamuna.

Pemba Dolma Lama, the former captain and president of the Women's Football Association, who scored the first goal from Nepal in the international women's football tournament, handed over cash to Jamuna.

After handing over the money, President Lama wished Ganga a speedy recovery and thanked all the helpers.

On that occasion, football head coach Aruna Gurung, Taekwondo's Sangina Vaidya, the first athlete from Nepal to pass the qualifying stage and play in the Olympics, former captains Jamuna Gurung and Chandra Bhandari were also present.

Ganga is undergoing treatment at Rajiv Gandhi Hospital in New Delhi, India.
