Ward No. 8 has become the first team to enter the semi-finals of the ongoing 6th Duhabi Mayor Cup Knockout Football Tournament.

In the first quarter-final held on Monday, Ward No. 8 defeated Ward No. 9 by 3-1 and entered the semi-finals.

Santosh Chaudhary scored two goals for Ward No. 8 and Sabin Rizal scored one more goal in the match at Saraswati Mavi located in Duhabi-5, Sunsari. Mohammad Dahid returned the only goal for the defeated ward number 9.

Santosh Chaudhary of Ward No. 8 was also declared Man of the Match in the match. Under the competition, the second quarter-final match on Tuesday, Baisakh 11, will be held between Ward No. 3 and 6, the organizers informed.

The winner of the competition organized by Duhbi Municipality, Duhbi, Sunsari and Eleven Arrows Club, Duhabi will receive a cash prize of Rs. 1,25,222 and the runner-up will receive Rs. 72,222. The final match will be held on Baisakh 17.
